Mysteriously, our book seems to have turned up on Amazon.com.
Which is nice, if surprising.
Although, given that it’s targeted at UK English speakers, it might have made more sense for it to be on Amazon’s UK site…

HBO have given the go-ahead for production of a pilot for A Game of Thrones. The TV series has been mooted for a year and a half or so, but this is the first real sign that they might actually do it.
It’s co-written by the guy who co-wrote Troy (oh, that might not be good), by GRRM himself (who, lest we forget, wrote for Beauty and the Beast. Y’know, the Linda Hamilton and Ron Perlman TV show…), and by some guy I’ve never heard of. Which is worrying. I mean, we all hate Some Guy…

Not only have I just read the excellent book of short stories Shadows over Baker Street (recommended by carnaaki – pick it up, it’s superb) which combines the world of Sherlock Holmes with the world of the Cthulu Mythos…
I walked into computer game shop a couple of days ago and immediately saw Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened, which combines the world of Sherlock Holmes with the world of the Cthulu Mythos.
And I’ve heard mutterings that a film is in production – which combines the world of Sherlock Holmes with the world of the Cthulu Mythos.
It’s a great combination. But I’m starting to worry whether my lunchtime sandwich might not also combine the world of Sherlock Holmes with the world of the Cthulu Mythos.

Not sure how I feel about this one at all. One of my favourite books of all time. I have grave doubts that they’ll get it right…

I’m a big fan of Vess’s stuff. I’d love to see his take on Martin’s world…
